Physical Education Class
Hello, my name is Mr. Wetzelberger and I will be teaching Physical Education class this school year. In the Physical Education classes, we will cover a variety of sports and games in class, including football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, kickball, baseball and many more. We will focus on learning and following the rules of the games, displaying good sportsmanship at ALL times and having fun.
All students must wear the appropriate gym uniforms (OLMA gym t-shirt, blue OLMA shorts, white socks that cover their ankle bones, and low top, white sneakers (a little blue on them is fine). If a child is not dressed properly for gym class they WILL NOT be allowed to participate in class activities. Middle School students MUST wear their regular school uniform on days we attend mass, but MUST also bring their gym uniforms to change into after church.
Food and drinks are prohibited in the gym at all times. We ask that care is taken when using rolling backpacks on the gym floor. With a little TLC we will have a beautiful floor to use for many years to come!
Students will not solely be graded on their athletic performance - because not all are blessed with the same skill level. Therefore, grades will be based on the following:
(Great) Effort and attitude
Participation in activities
Comprehension of the rules and good sportsmanship
Preparation for class (this means wearing the proper uniform for gym)
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me via this website or contact Our Lady of Mercy Academy at (201) 391-3838.
Looking forward to working with your children.
